What is the purpose of this website?

The purpose of this website is to inform the general public about the Costa Rica poker scene in general, and, in specific to get interest for our upcoming Costa Rica Poker Parties.

When is the next Costa Rica Poker Party?

A Costa Rica Poker Party is held the first Wednesday through Sunday of every other month. The next Costa Rica Poker Party is planned for August 3-7, 2005. We are building an interest list through this website and other venues and will contact you via email to let you know. A Poker Party will be held every two months. Click here to add your name to the interest list. We have a Costa Rica Poker Party newsletter we send out every three weeks to keep you informed.

What can I expect in a Costa Rica Poker Party?

You can expect to have 30 poker tourists and about 40 local Costa Rica players playing in daily tournaments. These are not meant to be large events, but, rather, an fun opportunity for American players to sit down with the Costa Rican locals and get together for some no limit poker games and no limit poker tournaments. Where are the Costa Rica Poker Parties held?

Costa Rica Poker Parties are held at various poker rooms in Costa Rica to accommodate the size of the players we have coming in. We will try to use different rooms to keep it interesting for the players.

Do I need a passport or visa to enter Costa Rica?

Traveling to Costa Rica is very easy for Americans, Canadians, and Europeans. You do not require a visa, but you do need a passport.

What if I enjoy other casino games as well as poker? Are they available?

Yes, of course. Costa Rica has many casinos in the San Jose area. All casinos have blackjack (or rummy, a derivative), tute (derivative of Caribbean Stud), roulette (or canasta, a derivative), paigow, and a craps table. Check for the Poker Party you’d like to attend and there will be a full description of table games offered.
